Kaleidoscope forces teams to deliver results and make decisions in a fast paced challenging environment. In teams, participants compete to earn as many points as possible in the time allotted. The task involves building ever more complicated and difficult towers. Throughout the experience teams are presented with opportunities to change towers, earn more points, and achieve higher goals. A challenge that requires effective teamwork for great results.
The task is simple - construct a puzzle using the coloured planks provided according to the plans given to your group. Split into two groups teams figure out how to construct a wooden structure from 18 planks of wood. Once built each team has to create a process for repeating the task in under 60 seconds from start to finish. This exercise challenges groups to work through difficult problem solving together, creates a great opportunity to explore process and process improvement, shows how team members can celebrate each others different learning styles, works well for communicating under pressure of time and is loads of fun - if you're in the winning team!
The Challenge here is to move a stack of discs from a pole that they start on to either of the other two poles. A task that begins with people thinking this is easy soon descends into anarchy. People start off running between pole with discs only to find out that their actions now look rather hap hazard and un co-ordinated. What happens here really challenges teams to plan, communicate effectively and execute well.
Teams go head to head in the race to build the tallest Jenga. The twist is that teams may contain up to 2 saboteurs. Here the experience focuses on how sometime we can lose sight of an objective through simple distractions. A good exercise to look at trust.
A collaborative exercise in which smaller teams must work together to construct a giant bridge. What appears to be an enormous task initially gradually gets much easier as people start to share ideas and tips with each other and their is a huge sense of achievement at the end of the experience when the team sees what they've constructed. This will lay the foundations for team co-operation and support as it's almost impossible for 1 team to complete the task without the help of others. It's huge fun too.
