The Organisation
The Perfume Shop is Europe's largest fragrance-only retailer with 170 stores across the UK and Eire,
it is a member of the A.S. Watson Group, the world's largest health and beauty retailer. As The Perfume Shop
only sells fragrances and related services they are able to offer a truly specialised and unique service.
Yellowfoot has worked with The Perfume Shop for several years delivering
Gold of the Desert Kings and Movies & Moguls at their annual sales
conferences and working with their senior management team on leadership development.
The Need
Julia Bolsom, Head of PR & Marketing, approached the Yellowfoot team about a rather unusual request!
Christmas is the busiest time of year at The Perfume Shop and in recognition of all the hard work and efforts
of the 300 + staff based in their head office in High Wycombe and the warehouse facility in Maidenhead, they
decided that they would like to do something really special for them and their families!
The Solution
Having met with Jules and her team to discuss some potential ideas, Yellowfoot came up with a one
day programme of fun, unique and engaging activities to suit everyone. Yellowfoot built The Perfume Shop their
very own fun fair here at Yellowfoot Lodge, equipped with dodgems, carrousel rides, helter-skelter and swing boats
plus the traditional coconut shy, popcorn and candy floss stalls.
Food was served throughout the day offering a selection of healthy fruit cups to snack on, a bar-be-que
with jacket potato's, chilli, hot dogs and burgers and for the evening everyone tucked into a curry with all the
trimmings!
In addition to all the usual funfair rides we arranged for the bravest of souls to scale the 40 foot
climbing wall, have a go at archery and laser clay and for those who really wanted to do something different, we
had sword fighting!
In the evening those who had enough energy left boogied on down to the DJ or had a go at riding the
mechanical surf board! Finally, our guests were entertained with a terrific local firework display which they
viewed from the decked area at the Lodge whilst sipping cocktails and hot chocolate.
The Results
Following on from their day the Yellowfoot team met with Jules to get some feedback
"What an amazing day. Every single person who came, without exception, was raving about what a
great time they had and how much they enjoyed themselves. There was so much to choose from in terms of
activities - and without wishing to sound like a total cliché there really was something for all ages…from
one person's granny who loved the Carousel to what seemed like hundreds of toddlers who refused to get off
the mini cars!

the whole thing away from me for a very reasonable fee. I literally, for the first time ever got to turn up,
have fun, take part in everything and didn't have to worry or get involved in any of the organisation … it was
pure heaven!
