Innovation equals advantage in today's competitive marketplace, but can often prove challenging in practice. Our Innovation in Action Training Program addresses the culture, processes, and tools that are required for your team to make innovation simple, attainable, and effective.
The day kicks off with group discovery around the concept of "innovation" - what it is, what it's not, and why it's simpler than we tend to think! A definition is established that shows innovation to be uncomplicated and highly-achievable, and not the exclusive realm of either the creative or process-minded. Putting this all into perspective is the “Innovation Spectrum”, the scale on which creativity and intellect combine to drive effective and sustainable innovation.
What cultural conditions and behaviours drive innovation? Innovation is discovered to be a team sport, in which anyone can and should participate, and where attitudes and behaviours have a critical impact on success. The group explores the conditions under which innovation thrives or falters, and the behaviours that create those conditions.
Continuing with the focus on culture, the "Pulse Check" is introduced as a practical tool for ensuring a culture of innovation is fostered and the spirit of team is practiced. Six “checks” are considered:
Fosters an innovative environment
Workable solutions to real-life challenges
More efficient operations
Greater empowerment of employees
Here, the group breaks into smaller teams to tackle a seemingly simplistic yet challenging activity - Lab Works! The "Pulse Check" is practiced, and the power of common clarity as a driver of improved performance is emphasised.

Where the rubber meets the road, and ideas become reality! This portion of the training day presents a 10-step process for converting concepts to workable, innovative solutions. Attention is given to clarity of purpose, collaboration, ideation, roadblocks, and action planning, and a number of techniques are provided to enhance ideation and ensure that productive innovation occurs along the way.
The final portion of the day is given to hands-on practice, where participants apply all that's been learned to their own business relevant innovation opportunities.
