Spy Academy - Mission Possible
You've all heard about Mission Impossible but surely for your team it would be Mission Possible!
We've created the academy and you're invited to attend on this once in a life time opportunity - all you and your team have to do is unlock the challenges and demonstrate that you have what it takes to become elite spies!
Spy Academy can be a full of half day activities etc.
Here are just some of the activities we could include - We have left the learning objectives in each of the descriptions we can do little or none of this..We'll set up the afternoon as a competition we'll spilt the group into teams for Mission Impossible using some of the activities below.
Kaleidoscope
Kaleidoscope forces teams to deliver results and make decisions in a fast paced challenging environment. In teams, participants compete to earn as many points as possible in the time allotted. The task involves building ever more complicated and difficult towers. Throughout the experience teams are presented with opportunities to change towers, earn more points, and achieve higher goals. A challenge that requires effective teamwork for great results.
Plank Puzzle
The task is simple - construct a puzzle using the coloured planks provided according to the plans given to your group. Split into two groups teams figure out how to construct a wooden structure from 15 planks of wood. Once built each team has to create a process for repeating the task in under 60 seconds from start to finish. This exercise challenges groups to work through difficult problem solving together, creates a great opportunity to explore process and process improvement, shows how team members can celebrate each others different learning styles, works well for communicating under pressure of time and is loads of fun - if you're in the winning team!
Balance Platform
A huge table top balanced over a log. The challenge is to get everyone balanced then move keeping the table balanced. Really fun activity that shows how difficult it is to work together and how even when you say you'll let someone else manage the task it's still really easy to try and help, which here on the table doesn't! A great way to demonstrate how behaviour delivers the result not words!
Number Run
In number run teams are tasked with touching numbers from 1-60 in the quickest time possible. The numbers lye on the ground in a boxed off area and only one member of the team can be inside the area at a time. This is an activity that is fast paced, has the entire team working to a tight deadline that gets shorter and shorter. It challenges a team's ability to be creativity, on planning, co-ordination of resources, effective communication, strategy and good teamwork.
Egg Drop and Float
One half of the team will have to construct a mechanism out of various items that will enable an egg to survive a 40 foot drop and also another device to enable an egg to float away from the top of the pole. 4 participants - one from each team will then scale the centre pole.
Balloon Toss
Used as a final activity with Mission Possible. The groups now face the final challenge. The points awarded from the previous activities now represent the groups total points, and in turn each point is exchanged for a water balloon. Then after careful consideration the team splits into two, the first group have the task of launching each of their water balloon using giant catapults, whilst the second group have to catch the water balloons in giant parachutes. Only whole water balloons caught intact and handed to the Yellowfoot judge counts towards the groups final challenge total. The team delivering the most water balloons intact wins. A really fun end to the days activities!
